Our Haematology Oncology Service at Sligo University Hospital (SUH) includes a Haematology Oncology Day Ward and a 20 bedded inpatient unit.

All of our staff at the Haematology Oncology Day Ward are committed to giving you the best care possible and to support you on your journey.  Our aim is to treat you with dignity, respect and sensitivity. We will develop a treatment plan for you if you are diagnosed with cancer. 

If you have cancer, your consultant may recommend that you are treated with Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) at our Haematology Oncology Day Ward at Sligo University Hospital. 

Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) is any drug treatment used to control or treat cancer. 

The drug treatment types may include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy or a combination of these.

Opening hours: Our Haematology Oncology Day Ward at Sligo University Hospital is open from Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.

Out of hours, phone: 071 9174518 if you feel unwell outside of our opening hours.  This is the phone number for the Haematology / Oncology in-patient ward.  The nurse on duty will advise you.

Parking:  There is a public car park at the rear of the hospital.  We can arrange a reduced parking rate for our patients with parking management.
