If you have cancer, your consultant may recommend that you are treated with Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) at our Haematology Oncology Day Ward, University Hospital Galway.
Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) is any drug treatment used to control or treat cancer.
The drug treatment types may include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy or a combination of these.
Our Haematology Oncology Day Ward is an open plan unit with 31 reclining chairs.
Opening hours: Our Haematology Oncology Day Ward is open from Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6.30pm.

Acute Oncology Service: After you start your treatment, we will give you a phone number for our Acute Oncology Service which operates from Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
Out of hours contact: If you feel unwell outside of these hours, please attend your GP or local emergency department.

Directions: We are located on the first floor beside the Outpatients Department. UHG has a volunteer service that will guide you to where you need to go. Our volunteers are located at the main reception.
Parking: We advise patients and visitors to arrive early for their visits / appointments. There are 5 public car parks on site.
