Portiuncula University Hospital Oncology Unit
All of our staff here are committed to giving you the best care possible and to support you on your journey. Our aim is to treat you with dignity, respect and sensitivity. We will develop a treatment plan for you if you are diagnosed with cancer.
If you have cancer, your consultant may recommend that you are treated with Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) at our Oncology Unit at Portiuncula University Hospital.
Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) is any drug treatment used to control or treat cancer.
The drug treatment types may include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy or a combination of these.
Our Oncology Unit is a day unit and is open plan with 6 reclining seats.
Opening hours: Our Oncology Unit is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm.

Out of hours contact: If you are feeling unwell outside of our opening hours, you should contact your GP or attend the Emergency Department (ED). If you are on chemotherapy, you should attend the ED at University Hospital Galway (UHG).
