The West / North West Hospitals Group has published its 2014 Service Plan, which is the first since the Group was expanded to include hospitals in Mayo, Sligo and Donegal in 2013.

The Surgical Gynaecology Unit, Sligo Regional Hospital, was awarded first prize in the International category of the Lean Healthcare Awards UK, held in Leeds recently for their Productive Ward Project, 'Room to Care'. Mayo General Hospital introduced a smoke free campus policy, today Wednesday 05 March.
It is no longer possible to smoke anywhere on the hospital grounds, for example entrances, doorways, walkways, internal roads, car parks, cars, bicycle shelters etc.
