Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Events This Week

International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day takes place each year on 15 October. As part of this global initiative to recognise, acknowledge and  remember babies who have passed away due to miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, and other causes of infant loss, a number of events are taking place in Saolta hospitals. 

Sligo University Hospital to light up in pink and blue on Friday to mark Pregnancy and Infant Loss

Sligo University Hospital will be lighting up in pink and blue on Friday 15 October at 7pm to mark pregnancy and infant loss as part of an international event aimed at raising awareness of the issues affecting families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or a baby.

Final COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Burtonport this week

The final COVID-19 vaccination clinic will take place in St Columba’s Community Centre, Burtonport on Thursday 14 October between 12.15pm and 5.15pm.

Final COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Belmullet this week

The final COVID-19 vaccination clinic will take place in Belmullet Civic Centre on Friday 15 October between 1pm and 5pm.

Walk-in COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics at Sligo Racecourse Vaccination Centre this week

COVID-19 vaccine clinics will commence at the Sligo Racecourse Vaccination Centre this week. There will be walk-in clinics and scheduled appointment clinics running at the new location.

The dates and times of the walk-in clinics are as follows:

Walk-in COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics at Letterkenny Vaccination Centre this week

A number of walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics are taking place this week at the Letterkenny Vaccination Centre which has relocated from LYIT to the Community Assessment Hub on the Kilmacrennan Road.

The dates and times of the walk-in clinics are as follows:

Walk in COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics 11 - 17 October

Walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics continue this week at centres across the West and North West. Anyone aged 12 upwards who needs a vaccine is invited to come to a walk-in clinic for either a first or second dose.

University Hospital Galway is the first designated cancer centre to roll out and implement the National Cancer Information System (NCIS) which will be implemented in all 26 hospitals delivering Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy nationally.

Relocation of Sligo Vaccination Centre

The COVID-19 Vaccination Centre in Sligo is in the process of relocating from IT Sligo to the Sligo Racecourse and the first clinics are due to take place in the new location next week.
