A unique breastfeeding clinic designed to support mothers who are having difficulty breastfeeding has won two Irish Healthcare Centre Awards. The ‘Well Baby Breastfeeding Clinic’ in Galway won Best Community Outpatient Initiative of the year and Clinical Team of the year at an awards ceremony in May.
The Health and Safety team in Letterkenny University Hospital are delighted to have won a national Health and Safety Excellence Award for their work on internal audit.

The LUH run clinic offers novel therapeutics and treatment for people in the region suffering from severe asthma. The treatment involves an injectable biological infusion which dramatically reduces the symptoms of the condition in some patients.
The very talented staff of Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH) hosted a variety show at An Grianán Theatre over two nights on May 19th and 20th. The concert brought together the best of LUH’s actors, musicians, performers, singers and dancers for a night of entertainment and laughs. The CryoNerve blocking probe delivers liquid nitrogen at a temperature of around -190 degrees from the tip of the device during invasive surgery.

As always, people who do require emergency care are encouraged to attend EDs where they will be prioritised.
