Roscommon University Hospital launch calorie posting in visitor and staff restaurant

Roscommon University Hospital has commenced calorie posting for all food on its breakfast menu. The restaurant is open to staff and the public.

Commenting Elaine Prendergast, General Manager Roscommon University Hospital said, “Calorie posting is one action to support our staff and visitors to make healthier choices. It increases staff and visitor awareness of the calorie content of the foods and drinks on offer at our restaurant and helps people make more informed and healthier choices. There is evidence to show that the public benefits from information about calories at the point of choice. We hope to extend calorie posting to other meal times during the course of 2016”.
