Statement - Disruption to health services 05 February 2019

The Saolta University Health Care Group has stated that the industrial action by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) today will have a significant impact on patient services across all of our hospitals.

All our hospitals are very busy today and we would advise that people only attend our emergency departments if absolutely essential.

The industrial action is taking place at all public hospitals, healthcare facilities and community healthcare services from 8am on February 5th until 8am on February 6th.

“We are continuing to work with the INMO on arrangements for the day to ensure safe service provision; however scheduled services are cancelled -

• All Out Patient, Inpatient and Day Surgery appointments are cancelled
• Roscommon University Hospital Injury Unit will be closed

If a patient’s procedure is going ahead, the relevant hospital will be in contact directly with the patient to let them know. We will be in contact with patients to re-schedule their cancelled appointments or procedures as soon as possible."
