Relocation of Roscommon Vaccination Centre to Kilbride Community Hall
The Roscommon vaccination centre is moving from its current location in the Abbey Hotel in Roscommon Town to Kilbride Community Hall.
The final day of vaccinations are taking place in the Abbey Hotel on Tuesday 17 August and vaccination clinics will commence in Kilbride Community Hall on Friday 20 August.
Frank Harburn, Saolta General Manager for the rollout of the vaccination programme in the West and North West said, “We held our first vaccination clinic in the Abbey Hotel in March and to date have administered over 31,000 vaccines from that centre. We are very grateful to the staff and management of the hotel for facilitating the use of their function room as a vaccination centre for as long as possible.
“After the last clinic takes place on Tuesday, we will dismantle the vaccination set-up and rebuild it in the Kilbride Community Hall in time for a clinic on Friday.
“The Kilbride venue is an ideal location for a vaccination centre with plenty of space and parking for people coming for their vaccine. We will be administering both first and second dose vaccines from the Kilbride vaccination centre. Anyone who received their first dose in the Abbey Hotel vaccination centre and will be due their second dose after we relocate to Kilbride will automatically receive a text message advising them to go to Kilbride to get their second vaccine.
“We would urge everyone to read their vaccine appointment text messages carefully to make sure that they know where their vaccine appointment takes place.
“Everyone aged 12 and older who hasn’t yet received their vaccine, can register to get their vaccine by going to hse.ie and clicking on the ‘register’ link. There is a good supply of vaccine at the moment and typically people are being offered appointments within a couple of days or so of registering.
“It is important that people attend for their appointment when called and also get the second dose of their vaccine so that they have the best protection against COVID-19 including against the Delta variant. If necessary people can change their appointment date by responding to your appointment text or by calling the HSE COVID-19 helpline on 1800 700 700.”
