Relocation of Letterkenny Vaccination Centre
The COVID-19 Vaccination Centre in Letterkenny is in the process of relocating from the LYIT to the Community Assessment Hub on the Kilmacrennan Road.
The first clinics are planned to take place in the Community Assessment Hub this weekend. On Saturday there will be a walk-in clinic from 11am to 3pm, running alongside an appointment-based clinic. On Sunday there will be a walk-in clinic from 10am to 4pm with an appointment-based clinic also. People who receive details of a COVID-19 vaccine appointment this weekend by text are advised to read their text invitation message carefully and note the new location of the vaccination centre.
Paul Hooton, Saolta Executive Lead for the rollout of the vaccination programme in the West and North West said, “I would like to acknowledge the co-operation and support that we received from LYIT over the past six months or so. Since the first clinic in March we administered 95,000 vaccinations from the LYIT Vaccination Centre. This is a huge achievement and a tribute to the immense work by the vaccination team in County Donegal.
“We are now relocating the Letterkenny Vaccination Centre to the Community Assessment Hub where we will be running both appointment-based and walk-in clinics. The details of the walk-in clinics are updated weekly on hse.ie and saolta.ie where people can also find details on what to bring with them to a walk-in clinic.
“It is not too late to get your COVID-19 vaccination. Go to hse.ie to register online to get a vaccine at a vaccination centre. Or to register by telephone, call 1800 700 700, Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm or Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 5pm.”
Cara O’Neill, COVID-19 Vaccination Lead for Community Healthcare Organisation Area 1 stated, “We are delighted to be able to facilitate the relocation of the vaccination clinic to the Community Assessment Hub and look forward to continuing to work in collaboration with Saolta on the continued rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine in Donegal.”
