A Message to Staff from Saolta CEO Tony Canavan
The CEO of the Saolta Hospital Group is urging all staff to keep up their guard against Covid19.
In a message to those working across the hospital group, Tony Canavan praised the great work being carried out, adding that real progress has been made.
However, he urged staff to stay vigilant and keep adhering to public health guidelines.
If you develop symptoms consistent with Covid-19; fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, please adhere to National Public Health Guidelines. This applies if you are fully vaccinated or are awaiting a first / second dose.
If symptomatic you should immediately:
- Self-isolate
- Contact your GP and arrange for a COVID-19 test in a test centre
- If you are a close contact of a confirmed case of Covid19; even if you are asymptomatic; you must isolate, seek GP advice and arrange for a test.
- Healthcare Workers should not attend their workplace until they receive a negative PCR Covid-19 test result.
“We are making huge progress in the rollout of the vaccination programme and my thanks and appreciation to all our staff for the role you have played in this national effort,” said Mr Canavan.
“However, as more of us are vaccinated and as the country starting to open up again it is really important to remind ourselves to continue to be careful. Healthcare workers in particular should lead by example; continue to use our masks, to keep our distance and to wash our hands.
“So for the moment while real progress has been made, it's important that we continue to keep up our guard,” he added.
