Letterkenny General Hospital is delighted to announce that its new Pharmacy Department was officially opened by Minister of State for Primary Care, Mr Alex White TD today (Monday 12 May).
The project to develop a new Pharmacy Department had been designed and planned before the flood last July, but had to be put on hold to allow the re-instatement of patient services at the hospital after the flood. The cost of the new development was €550,000.
‘Promoting Safe Care for Mother and Baby’, was the theme of National Midwives week which took place from 28 April to 02 May.

The two family rooms in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in University Hospital Galway have been recently refurbished for use by the families of those who have loved ones receiving treatment in the unit. The refurbishment of these rooms was carried out by Máire Ní Bhriain and the family and friends of her late daughter, Sadhbh Ní Bhrádaigh.

The Surgical Gynaecology Unit, Sligo Regional Hospital, was awarded first prize in the International category of the Lean Healthcare Awards UK, held in Leeds recently for their Productive Ward Project, 'Room to Care'. The unit was short-listed over several hundred applicants from hospitals internationally and was awarded first prize in a ceremony in the UK last month.
