Stoma Care Information evening on 24th of June 2015
Galway University Hospitals Stoma Care Unit is holding a free public information meeting for anyone who has had stoma surgery - family, friends & carers are also welcome to attend. Entitled “Living with a stoma “, the evening will focus on quality of life issues and looking at positive influences on living with a stoma.
Healthcare Professionals from Galway University Hospitals will speak on topics related to stoma management, including lifestyle issues, diet and peer support. Speakers on the evening include Clinical Nurse Specialist Mary Quigley who will talk about life after surgery and Dietitian Siobhan Spellman will be discussing the key steps for a healthy diet. There will be exhibit stands for new ostomy products, underwear/swimwear & support-wear. There will also be an opportunity for those attending to speak to the presenters on a one-to-one basis.
This event will be held in the Ardilaun Hotel, Taylor’s Hill, Galway on the 24th of June 2015 from 7pm to 9pm, refreshments will be served and there will be various spot prizes on the night.
