Mayo University Hospital launch HSE Calorie Posting Policy
Aramark Staff in Mayo University Hospital launched the HSE Calorie Posting policy in the restaurant for staff and visitors recently. Calorie information is now displayed clearly on menus and display boards. This policy is being implemented on a phased basis with breakfast menus. In addition, restaurant staff are encouraging healthy eating by promoting healthy swap options from the menu.
Commenting on the success and eagerness of staff at Mayo University Hospital to implement the HSE Policy on Calorie posting, The General Manager Charlie Meehan, said, “this policy will make our staff and visitors more aware of the calories in the food they eat and targets awareness around obesity problems”.
Calorie information will be available across the entire restaurant menu by February 2016 with soup and salad items having calorie information displayed by early December.
