The following walk-in clinics are taking place in the Breaffy House Resort Vaccination Centre this week for anyone aged 40 and over who is eligible for a booster vaccine. There is no appointment needed.

Mayo University Hospital (MUH) will be hosting its fourth Quality and Patient Safety Symposium on Thursday, 11 October 2018 in St. Mary’s Hall, GMIT, Castlebar. MUH have been working with the Quality Improvement Division in the HSE as one of the pilot sites for the implementation of the ‘Framework for Improving Quality in our Health Services’.

Mayo University Hospital is a member of the WHO Save Lives: Clean Your Hands Initiative Hospitals and as part of that we hold a Hand Hygiene Awareness Day during May of each year to show commitment to improve Patient Safety by practicing better hand hygiene.  

This year the campaign theme is 'Fight Antibiotic Resistance - it's in your Hands’.

The objectives of hosting such an event are:

Irishkidneydiet.ie is the brain child of a small group of Dietitians from the Renal Interest Group of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute. The vision behind the website was to create a patient education website covering all aspects of the renal diet for people with chronic kidney disease and their Carers.  For the last number of years Renal patients have been checking out websites available for their condition.
