Donation to Maternity Bereavement Services, Portiuncula University Hospital

Tee19 Bar and Restaurant at Ballinasloe Golf Club recently donated a cheque for €3,570 to the Maternity Bereavement Services at Portiuncula University Hospital (PUH).

On the 02 December Tee19 Bar and Restaurant played host to Santa Claus as well as holding a raffle to raise the funds.

Public urged to consider all pathways as Emergency Departments remain busy

With Emergency Departments across the country facing sustained pressure, health services are urging the public to consider all care options.

University Hospital Galway under significant pressure today

University Hospital Galway is appealing to the public to consider all care options before attending the Emergency Department. The ED at UHG has experienced high levels of attendances this week and there is significant pressure on bed availability. As of this morning there were 42 patients on trolleys awaiting admission to in-patient beds.

Visiting update for Roscommon University Hospital

Due to an outbreak of COVID-19 in the hospital, Roscommon University Hospital is appealing to the public not to visit the hospital if they are feeling unwell or have respiratory symptoms.

The hospital is currently dealing with a Covid outbreak on St Coman’s Ward and St Teresa’s Ward and visiting to both wards will be facilitated on compassionate grounds, on an exceptional basis only. To arrange a visit on compassionate grounds, please contact the ward manager in advance.

11th Annual Multidisciplinary Research Symposium Letterkenny University Hospital

The 11th Annual Multidisciplinary Research Symposium was held at Letterkenny University Hospital in November 2023. The event, organised by the LUH Postgraduate Medical Education Department, showcased some of the excellent research taking place within LUH and the broader community, with oral and poster presentations from staff representing a wide range of disciplines within our healthcare services as well as University of Galway medical students.

As a result of rising rates of respiratory illness in the community Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH) is asking the public to not visit patients at the hospital if they are feeling unwell.

Sligo University Hospital is under significant pressure due to COVID outbreaks and high ED attendances

Sligo University Hospital (SUH) is under significant pressure due to COVID outbreaks and high numbers of people attending the Emergency Department. SUH is managing five COVID outbreaks and the public are asked to be extra vigilant if visiting the hospital. Do not visit the hospital if you are feeling unwell.  

Letterkenny University Hospital is very busy with long wait times at the Emergency Department

The Emergency Department (ED) at Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH) has been extremely busy over the past few days with high numbers of people attending. Yesterday, Thursday 07 November, 135 people attended at the Emergency Department. There are currently 80 patients in the Emergency Department with 15 patients waiting to be admitted. There are currently 15 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at LUH with two wards in outbreak.
