Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must on the closing date:

 

Qualifications, Experience, etc.

a)     Have completed second level education to Leaving Certificate standard

(Level 5 on the Quality and Qualifications Ireland Framework) and have obtained a minimum of six passes in the Leaving Certificate Examination Ordinary Level or Higher Level including Mathematics and English.

Or

(ii) Hold an equivalent qualification (evidence of equivalency as determined by QQI must

be submitted with application as, failure to do so will result in your application not

proceeding to the next stage)

And

b)     Be the holder of a full valid unendorsed Category B Driving Licence

And

c)     Have a minimum of 5 years experience working in the construction sector in a health care setting

And

d)     Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

 

 

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character

 

Age

Age restrictions shall only apply to a candidate where he/she is not classified as a new entrant (within the meaning of the Public Service Superannuation Act, 2004). A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age.

Post specific Requirements

  • Current safe pass
  • Demonstrate depth and breadth of supervisory experience of staff in a healthcare setting
  • Demonstrate depth and breadth of computer experience including using email, spreadsheets
  • Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience working with variety of trades i.e. mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating and carpentry

Other requirements specific to the post

  • Access to transport is necessary
  • Flexibility as regards working hours
